Evening at Radford

Yesterday evening I sat on the Barnard's ridiculously comfy couch and convinced myself that I in fact did not want to run anywhere. I did however convince myself and Hali (a girl from Arkansas that resides in the Barnard house) that we should go and walk at Radford. So we headed out for a nice evening walk on campus.

It really is an amazingly gorgeous campus. It has columns on the front of most buildings and just has a colonial feel to it. It was prettier than I remembered. After a walking tour for a bit we found my favorite dorm on campus that has this big colonial style front porch complete with a swing and rocking chairs. So we sat on the swing and sang worship songs, talked about life, dreamed about the future, and watch the squirrels play as the evening began to fade. It really was awesome.

After we had swung for a while we started touring the campus again. We came across one field in between some dorms and found some frisbees lying around. Of course if you are on an open field and find frisbees, you must pick them up and play. So we obliged and threw the frisbee for a while.

After frisbee time we headed back to the house for dinner and time on the swing on the back porch. The weather was awesome as it has been all week and it was a great evening. I'm fascinated by campuses and it was so nice to get to see Radford again. It really is one of my all time favorite campuses. It is gorgeous!

This morning I got up and headed to a local coffee shop for a while. I sat to gather my thoughts for Youth Group tonight. I'm speaking tonight and have been thinking since yesterday about what I am going to talk about. I began to get some ideas last night and then sat down and put it to paper this morning. I'm going to share my story of who I am and how I got to where I am and I'm going to intertwine it with Psalm 139 and the idea of who we think we are versus who God thinks we are. So much of the time we limit ourselves by only considering who we think we are. We forget that God doesn't see us through our eyes, but through His eyes and thus with Him we are unlimited in life. I'm pretty excited about tonight.

For now I think I'm going to curl back up on this ridiculously comfy couch and take a small nap! Until then ......
