There's a song that has been stuck in my head this entire week. If you know me at all you know that if a song is stuck in my head, then it's on repeat on my phone or computer or ipod. So this entire week, pretty much the only song I have listened to is "Give Me Faith" by Elevation Worship.
I love the melody and the beat and all the musically aspects of it. But mostly the words just resonate within my heart. Here's the words:
Verse:
I need you to soften my heart
To break me apart
I need you to open my eyes
To see that You're shaping my life
Pre-Chorus:
All I am, I surrender
Chorus:
Give me faith to trust what you say
That you're good and your love is great
I'm broken inside,
I give you my life
Verse 2:
I need you to soften my heart
To break me apart
I need you pierce through the dark
And cleanse every part of me
Bridge:
I may be weak
Your spirit strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God you never will
I think the chorus and the bridge are my favorite parts of this song. Sometimes we need a little extra faith to truly believe all that God says. Sometimes when things are hard or rough we need the faith to believe that He is good and His love is great. And though I'm not in one of those places at the moment, those words still resound inside my heart so strongly.
And the bridge just encourages me so much. I know that I am weak and that my flesh will indeed fail. But I also know that God is strong and He will never fail me. Amen! Hallelujah!!! Aaahhhhh the power in those words! The realization and magnitude of what that means!! Sooooo good and sooo encouraging.
Check it out and be encouraged. No matter where you are, God is stronger and will never fail you. And if we lack in something, all we need to do is ask. Even for faith. Enjoy!
Until then......
