I don't know if I've ever posted about this, but Nyquil scares me. I took it once in high school and slept all that night and the entire next day. I had this groggy feeling in my head that I couldn't get rid of. I waited seven years before I tried it again. In a desperate attempt to sleep whole I had a cold, I took some Nyquil two years ago. The aftermath: I had crazy hallucinating dreams and woke up with both eyes completely blood shot that took three days to look normal again.
This week I have been battling a rather rough cold or sinus infection or something. It hasn't seemed or felt like the usual cold or sinus issues. But whatever it is, it's been rough. I've spent the last three days in bed and am just now back at work today. I understand that if I would just go to the doctor that it probably would go away much quicker and easier. However I am not the go to the doctor kind of girl. I like to let my immune system bulk up by fighting things. I'll take over the counter stuff, but that's it. Also antibiotics scare me more than Nyquil since the last one I took I had an allergic reaction to and I won't go in to details about that.
Yesterday I went to the store to pick up some more medicine. Instead of the usual Sudafed I decided to try the Alka-Seltzer plus. After it knocking me out (as in unable to even stand any longer) an making my eyes blood shot, I decided to compare it's active ingredients to Nyquil. Low and behold they are the exact same thing! No wonder I had issues after taking it, it was basically Nyquil! I don't know which ingredient it is that gives me such problems, but something in that hates me.
Until then......
