Final countdown

Today is the last day of classes for the Fall Semester here at the University of Louisiana. I know we always say that time has flown by, but seriously!! This semester has disappeared and I have no idea how it went so quickly.

This week has been a whirlwind of various events and tying up of loose ends. I feel like I have accomplished so much and nothing this week all at the same time.

Next week is finals week. This means that Monday we host the "Almost Midnight Pancake Breakfast" at 11:59pm on Monday. We cook pancakes and host karaoke as long as students show up. Then Tuesday is our fancy Christmas Soiree. (I bought a cute new dress a few weeks ago and am super excited about it!) On Friday our staff will head to Baton Rouge for two days of statewide Chi Alpha planning meetings. We'll get back to Lafayette sometime Saturday.

Then early Sunday morning I will get in the car with four of my friends and we are journeying to Virginia!!!!! I have some fabulous friends living in southern Virginia and so I will be dropped off there. My friends will continue north to just outside of Washington D.C. for the week. They will be doing the D.C., New York, and Snowboarding thing for the week. I however will stay in southern Virginia with my friends. Have I mentioned these friends live on a Christmas Tree Farm???? Yes. That's right, I will be spending my week vacation living in a postcard in Virginia! "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas tree farm!!!!" My friends have this amazingly comfy green couch, where I shall sit for the week in front of the fire place with coffee or hot chocolate in hand and engage myself in deep conversations. Every now and then I plan on leaving the couch to go outside and "frolic and play the Eskimo way.. walking in a winter wonderland." I'm just a little excited!!!!!!

Until then......
