Last weekend I was blessed to get to go to a dinner with Max Lucado and then attend the "Making a Difference" tour concert afterward (all free!). It was a phenomenal evening and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The concert included: Jason Gray, Toby Mac, Third Day, and Michael W. Smith.
I've realized that my musical taste is very mellow and laid back. This is why I really enjoy country music. It's much more of an acoustic style than loud and high energy. Toby Mac for instance is not my style. Don't get me wrong, he puts on a phenomenal show! If you like him I highly recommend seeing him live, he's great! But definitely my favorite for the night was Third Day. I guess you could say they sound the most country of the three acts, but again it's the simple more streamline sound that I love!
A few years ago I was listening to Casting Crowns while working on a project at the Tech Chi Alpha house. A friend came and was was asking who was listening to country. I was amazed at how he thought it was country when clearly it was Casting Crowns. But really I could see where things could seem similar. No wonder I like Casting Crowns, it's up the alley of my musical taste.
Tonight I'm enjoying an evening at home blog hoping and listening to a local worship band from college. They are known as The Commonground Band. They did a worship service at Tech every week for years. I love their music! It's lead by a guy playing an acoustic guitar and fits right in with my musical taste. I love it!!!
Until then......
