A couple of weeks ago I posted about how I was contemplating a 5k in October and was starting to run again. I am happy to say that 2.5 weeks in and I am still running! Last night is the only night in my schedule that I have missed so far. My schedule is that I run Sunday - Thursday each week. But due to being at work at 7am yesterday morning, working 13 hours, and having to be back at work at 7am this morning, I felt ok with not running last night.
Tonight I contemplated not running again. (I am in the middle of the busiest three weeks of the year for us.... 10 - 13 hour work days are normal and it is exhausting) I came home at 4pm, took a shower and crawled in to bed. I stayed in bed (dozing on and off) until about 7pm. I then decided to treat myself to a Dr. Pepper, Chinese take out, and a chick flick. I then curled up in the dark on the couch with my dinner and enjoyed a nice chick flick by myself. My movie ended around 9:30 and I contemplated a run.
I know tomorrow is a full day. Not quite as long hours, but it is multiple events being run all day and much of the day will be out in the heat. However I decided a good run would still be good for me. So I hit the pavement and had a great run! I am happy to say that since the start of my running, I have doubled my distance. Now don't laugh, (I'm no marathoner here) but I'm up to 1.25 miles each night! I'm excited.
I'm thinking tomorrow I may change my route up a little and try to push for at least 1.5 or more if possible. It's going well and I'm loving it! Fair warning that Thursday will most likely not see a run this week though. Thursday evening is our biggest event of the year and so I do not forsee me wanting to run nor having to energy to run by the end of it. And you know what, that is ok! I'll pick back up and stick back on schedule next week!
