As I mentioned previously, this week is nothing short of organized chaos and a bit of a marathon. This morning we decided we needed to make a quick Sam's run. The only thing is that the list was way longer than a quick run.
Generally it takes at least 15 minutes or so to get from our office door to walking in the door of Sam's. So that would be at least 30 minutes of our time. Plus to load and unload all of our stuff would be about another 10 minutes or so. So that means in the 1 hour and 15 minutes we used on our Sam's run, only 35 minutes was spent inside of the Sam's building. This would not seem like a big deal, other than the fact that it involved two of us, one buggy completely filled to overflowing, one pallet shopping cart filled to capacity, and a total ringing in at nearly $575. Needless to say, Kelsey and I were more than impressed by our mad Sam's club shopping skills today.
We hit the door, divided our list, and made a mad dash to get things. It was a like playing the super market sweeps game. As we were off-loading at the office we made the joke with one of our co-workers that we didn't even look at a list, we just filled buggies and hoped we got something we needed! Luckily we didn't actually do that but found all we needed on our list for a plethora of events we are hosting this week. Chaos I tell you!!
And in other running news, tonight I doubled the length of my run from last week!!!! Yay!!!!! Last week I was running around .6 of a mile each night. Tonight I came in around 1.15! I was super excited about that! I've been trying to push myself as hard as I can without pushing too far. It's working so far.
Oh... and I'll explain more about this soon, but this year I am pioneering a Chi Alpha at a local community college. Last year one of my co-workers got all the paper work rolling and the constitution written and started a small group. Since she is moving to Greece next month, I am now the one in charge. I have no idea how to start a campus ministry. And honestly I'm a little scared! Tomorrow I'm going to meet the Dean and figure out what else they need me to do to be recognized as an official campus organization and also see what all I am allowed to do on campus. Please pray for me and SLCC XA. Again I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm assuming God does so I'll stick with Him til something happens!!
Until then......
