This trip to South Africa truly was amazing! Our team consisted of people from three different universities across Louisiana and was absolutely phenomenal! They bonded and worked well as a team and worked hard! I never heard complaint or question. They were phenomenal!!
We were in Pretoria, South Africa (the capital city) working with Chi Alpha at the University of Pretoria. This is a campus with 60,000 students. That's a lot of students!! While on campus our group reached out to students, listened to their stories, shared their faith and lives, talked about Jesus, prayed for exams, and made lots of new friends.
We spent the bulk of our two weeks on campus. We did however get away and work with a children's ministry program for two days. This was an amazing experience and a very different view of South Africa. We went into some schools and to a township where kids are coming from absolutely horrific backgrounds. We also stayed at the center's training facilities which is in the middle of no where. Like one lane dirt roads for miles, middle of no where. It was incredible!
On our way back to Pretoria from the children's center, we spent the day at a nature reserve. We got to play with lion cubs, half our team repelled down into a cave, and the other half of us went horse back riding through the park and got a close up of lots of wild animals. So cool!!!
While there the other two campus pastors and I got to take turns preaching at different meetings. We rotated between two Chi Alpha meetings and two church meetings. I got to preach at a Sunday night church service. I am always grateful for the opportunity to preach and loved every second of it.
Over the course of our two weeks, we saw a few students start relationships with Christ for the first time, was able to give one his first Bible, and had many conversations that will impact eternity for people. It was amazing to say the least. Here are just a few of the many pictures:

Until then......
