This week I have the privilege of spending the week at Louisiana Assemblies of God Youth Camp. I never actually attended camp as a kid (other than cheerleading camp in junior high and high school), but I absolutely love summer camps. I worked a few different ones while I was in college and could seriously do this all summer every summer!
For the AG youth they host three camps each summer. Each session is a week and we send Chi Alpha reps each week to help out and talk about Chi Alpha too. This week Kelsey (we work together at UL) and I are both here. We've been hanging out, talking about Chi Alpha, and teaching morning sessions about how to spend time with God each day. Yesterday we talked about reading the Bible. Today we talked about prayer. And tomorrow we tackle personal worship.
Each morning after a short worship session, I have about 175 high school kids and talk to them about spending time each day with God. Seriously this is so cool!!!! I love getting to break it down to the basics and lay a foundation for them. I hope and pray they are taking at least something that I say to heart and that it helps them in their pursuit of God.
Such an awesome privilege to be here! (I am excited about getting home this weekend though because I'm starting renovations on my bathroom!! Hopefully it won't take but a few days. I'll definitely post action shots of it all when I'm done!)
Until then......
