Hiatus

For the past 9 days I have been on a bit of an internet hiatus. I left Lafayette the Saturday before Christmas and headed to Ruston and have been here since. We got a week and a half off for Christmas and it has been fabulous.

My oldest brother from Missouri came in the same night and was in town until yesterday. We only see each other twice a year and so it was great to get to hang out. He actually got engaged just two weeks before Christmas and will be getting married this coming June.

I also got to hang out with my other brother and his fiance (he's getting married in March.... yes wedding time in our family) a good bit. I've never had a sister so it's fun to know I am getting two within the next six months. I enjoy getting to know and hang out with the future sister in laws.

And of course the break has been great parental time. My oldest brother and I took our mom clothes shopping for Christmas. We took her to Old Navy and got her some new trendier clothes. She looks great!

This last half of the week of vacation is spent catching up with friends. Yesterday I got to hang out with three different couples friends of mine and their combined total of seven kids. They are some of my dearest friends and I love getting to spend time with their families. And I also got to catch up with and see a movie with an old co-worker.

Today I headed up to El Dorado to have lunch with one of my BFFs. My amazing friend Hali is from Arkansas but lives in Virginia. Since she was home for the holidays we met in the middle for a great lunch. She's awesome and time with her is great! Tonight I get to have Chili's with some of the girls.

Tomorrow I get to accompany one of my very most favorite people in the world to her sonogram appointment. She has two incredible kids already and is due in the spring with twins. I was there for the birth of the last kid, but will miss the actual birth of the twins. I figure sonogram appointments are the next closest thing, so I'll take it. And after that I'm catching up with one of my best friends from high school. This is one of the reasons I love the holidays and time at home. I get to see some of the greatest people I know. I'm grateful for these times!

Wednesday I head out and back to work. We have a four day conference in Texas with all the Chi Alphas from Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. It's a fabulous time and I get to speak at two of the sessions about becoming a campus missionary. I'm very excited!

Until then......
