I think most times as a leader you graduate before your members and then you leave them. I did this as well after our first year together but for the past two quarters I have been back on campus and able to see my girls in action during their senior year. It has blown me away. I mean I did keep up with them for the two years I was gone, but it's even more impressive when you are able to be around.
In two weeks most of my girls will graduate from Tech. Currently two have already graduated, one is married, and one has a child, and there are four that are graduating together in two weeks. Of my nine girls six of them went into some form of leadership in Chi Alpha after I left. Four of those girls are currently leading lifegroups.
Being back on campus and watching them lead has absolutely blown me away. It's amazing to see the women they have become and the heart they have for those around them. Of the four graduating one is about to get married, one will do a Chi Alpha internship next year, one is about to move to Africa, and the other is doing her internship with her degree.
Seriously I'm just blown away to see the amazing women these ladies have turned in to. It's amazing that God let me be apart of their lives for a while. And not that I was amazing as a lifegroup leader, but it's amazing to think that their year in lifegroup had something to do with who they are now. I'm just amazed. I praise God that He did use me in their lives. I praise Him for that year that we had together. This is why I do campus ministry. I get to see lives changed for God. It's amazing.
I figured I would leave you with some pictures of our lifegroup from that year. For graduation I gave each of them a frame with one of the pictures of our lifegroup in it and a card telling them how proud I am of who they are. I really am. I feel slightly like a mom watching her kids grow up. It's awesome!!!
Until then ......
