Wowed

All but one of our staff members have left our campus to go to District Council for three days. Tonight was the first night and honestly it was awesome. At first it seemed long and a bit stereotypical and I was not excited at all. But as things got going God just wowed me and by the end of the night I was straight out floored.

So the service started tonight with them announcing those who had become certified or licensed in the past year. Then they moved on to those who were to be ordained tonight. Next they had a special recognition for Bro Fullenwider (the superintendent for Louisiana Distrcit AG). Bro Fullenwider and his wife have been married for 40 years and been serving the AG in Louisiana for 30 years. After that they recognized three pastors and their wives who had been ordained in the AG for 50 or more years. It was incredible. I kept watching these people and kept thinking 'I want to be like that. I want to be one of them.'

These people they recognized are the kinda of people who have lived a life completely yielded to God. They let go or everything to follow God. Some have left family members and homes and so on. But no matter the cost and no matter the task, they have faithfully followed and served God for 50 years. They are heroes of the faith kinda people. I was amazed as I watched these people.

After all the recognitions Bro Fullenwider preached. He preached about serving God and his key points were: Commitment, Obedience, Purity, and Holy Spirit. It was a phenomenal message. Honestly it was probably the best message I've heard in a while. By the end of the evening I was completely floored by God. I was floored by these people who have served him for their entire lives. I was floored by how awesome He is. And I was floored by the call He has placed on my life. I want to be one of those heroes. I want to follow God unwaiveringly. I want all there is and for as long as I live. And it doesn't mean I'm special or something to be admired. It means God has given me life and asked for it back. How can I say no to that? I am His and I'm floored and wowed by it.
