Red, White, & Blue

As I got dressed this morning I made sure that I put on red, white, and blue. Whether or not we voted for Obama. Whether or not he is black or white. Whether or not we like his party, ideas, or anything else. Today is still a big day for America. Today we get a new president. After eight years of Bush in office, today he will pass the baton to another. It's a big day for America. Everything else aside it's an exciting day in our country.

I'm not sure if I've ever watched inauguration coverage before or not but I sat and watched some this morning. I was filled with excitement with all of the hustle and bustle in Washington. And as I watched President and First Lady Bush welcome Obama and his wife at the White House I got a little teary-eyed. I can only imagine the flood of emotions and feelings the Bushes are flooded with at the moment. It has to be a bittersweet time.

So today I am excited for our country. I pray that the Bushes find meaning and fulfillment, peace and joy, and purpose and courage in this new season of their lives. I pray for Obama and his wife that God will work through them. That the Holy Spirit would have a place in the White House with their family and that they would grow as a family during this season. And I pray for our country. I pray for it's people, it's leaders, and the souls that reside within it.

Until then ......

i like the new background! the only time i watched an inauguration was in 10th grade when my mom was helping me with a science project. since she was helping me, she got control over the tv. it was when bush first got in office. so long ago!
