Modern West

On my way home from South Africa I watched the movie 'Swing Vote' on the plane with Kevin Costner. I must say that I think he is one of my favorite actors. 'For Love of the Game' and 'The Guardian' are two movies that I have seen multiple times and absolutely love.

So in the movie 'Swing Vote' there is a scene where Kevin Costner is singing and playing at a local event. I assumed that someone wrote that song for the movie and so Kevin just sang it. But low and behold I was listening to GAC while I was getting ready yesterday morning and heard the song from the movie playing. I watched the video and again assumed it was just something they did for the movie. But when the song finished and the little title thing shows on the screen, it said the song was by Kevin Costner and showed the album that the song was on. What????

So I looked it up when I got to my office yesterday and sure enough Kevin Costner now has a country band named Modern West. They released their first album back in November and have released two singles. You can go to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVn-uH61gTc

I love Kevin Costner as an actor. I'm not sure how I feel about him as a country singer.
