Mardi Gras!!!!!!!

Because Louisiana universities give students time off for Mardi Gras, UL Chi Alpha sends teams of students to universities in Texas during Mardi Gras break to do outreach on campuses there. Last year was my first time on MGO (Mardi Gras Outreach) and I loved it! I loved it so much that I requested to lead a team again this year.

Last week I took my MGO team to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. Stephenville is known as the cowboy capital of the world! And we had a blast!

I took nine students with me and we worked with a Chi Alpha that has only really been on campus this year. The drive was long, but it was well worth it. We did manual labor around the Chi Alpha house, went to church, helped with a missions banquet, taught their leadership class, did contact table and 2x2 evangelism on campus all day for two days, hosted capture the flag and game nights in the rec center, did three dorm dinners, and lead their Tuesday Night Chi Alpha service. We got the chance to meet so many new students and reach out to a lot.

During the day on Monday and Tuesday we had a table in the student center to talk to people and give out info about Chi Alpha. During those times most of our students were out on campus just talking to students and praying for them. It was awesome to hear of the conversations that students got to have.

Truly we had a phenomenal team and adventure this year. Our group was a riot and had so much fun being together. I think MGO may be one of my favorite parts of each year here at UL. I love getting to take students out of their comfort zone and challenge and pour in to them for a week.

Here are just a few pics from our week in the cowboy capital:

Until then......
