This week I have started working out again. I haven't consistently worked out in over three years. (I know, I know) My two years in South Africa I had no where to go, thus I used my excuse and did not work out at all. From this past February I did have a membership to the Intramural Center at LA Tech, but still I did not use it. However this week I have picked back up on the working out gig.
Working at the university here in Lafayette, we are allowed to use the on campus gym. So Monday I headed off to Bourgeois (the gym on campus) and got myself back in the grove. I rode about 4 miles on the stationary bike and then did about 2 miles on the elliptical machine. I then repeated this on Tuesday. Wednesday however I decided to throw some variation into my workout.
Yesterday I ventured into the world of Water Aerobics! Yes, yes I did. I know people laugh and usually say it's a bunch of old ladies, but I loved it. It was a small class yesterday consisting of myself, one old lady, and the instructor. But it was great. It was at 5:!5 in the outdoor pool. The sun was shining, there was a nice breeze, and all around the weather was just gorgeous. It was such a refreshing change to working out on a machine in a stale gym. I really think I'm going to try and keep water aerobics in my workout routine once or twice a week!
And in other news, this weekend I'm going home!! Yay!! I haven't been back to Ruston since I moved about seven weeks ago. Granted this does not seem like a long time when I went eleven months at a time in South Africa without seeing my family. However since I am close enough, I'm heading home this weekend! I have coffee scheduled with friends for Saturday morning, lunch with my mom, a bit of tailgating with LA Tech Chi Alpha and old friends, dinner with my dad and step-mom, and then filling the rest of the time with friends and family. I'm excited! It's going to be a great trip!! Until then......

Back to "God's Country"!
Water aerobics sounds like fun! I always wanted to take a class or something in the natatorium in college but I didn't want to do it by myself!
