This week is Spring Break for UL students. For our staff we are still working. We've spent our week out and about on the property doing manual labor. We've pressure washed, fixed fences, cut grass, painted inside and out, cleaned, cut branches and vines, and anything else that could spruce up the joint. I always look forward to "manual labor" week at work. I'm tired and sore all over, but it's that good kind of sore.
With being outside and all our students off at the beach and camping, etc, it has me feeling like it's summer already. Within the last five days I've been to the pool three times (3 different pools in fact) and hit the water in the kayak once. The sun has been too bright and the air too warm not to be in or on the water.
My roommate and I were both in the room yesterday getting our stuff together to head to the pool and I told her that I can't help but feel like it's summer. I'm not really expecting students to return this weekend. And I'm not fully grasping that life goes back to normal on Monday (at least for the remaining few weeks of the semester). I'm enjoying this preview of summer and not wanting it to end. At least I have a few more pool days ahead before it's back to life as usual for a bit.
Until then......
