The grass is always greener

I was just facebook surfing. You know, you look at other people's profiles which leads you to others' profiles which leads you to others', etc. And of course inevitably you wind up coming yourself and your life to those whose profile you have landed on.

And now I will confess that I sometimes will then go back to my own page and see how it looks. Ya know like "I wonder what my profile looks like and people think when they see it?" The thing is though that I can never see my life the way others see it.

See I look at other people's profiles and think "wow, their life looks so great or interesting or whatever." Then I come back to my own and it looks so normal. And as I flip through pictures of myself standing in front of Buckingham Palace and then a few pictures later I'm playing with lion cubs and petting cheetahs, and thinking "my life just seems so normal. Why doesn't my life seem more like these other people." Then I realize, only to me are those things normal.

If the tables were turned and those people were looking through their profiles vs mine, I'm sure they would think the same thing as I am but in reverse (as in their life is normal and they wish they were in London or in Africa with lions and cheetahs).

Oh how the grass always seems greener on the other side because we haven't actually been there. You can't really compare your grass and your neighbor's grass. You see your grass everyday and you rarely see your neighbor's, so of course their grass seems greener and more exciting. However after a few months of having to mow their grass instead of yours, their grass would seem just as boring and dull as you once thought yours was. Make sense??

Until then......
