I had an absolutely phenomenal weekend! I kicked off Friday night with a little tv and then some household cleaning. Honestly I really do love to clean.
Then Saturday I slept in til I needed to get up and get ready because my sister-in-law from Shreveport was coming down for the rest of the weekend. I've never had a sister and neither has she, so we've really enjoyed the "sister" aspect that has come with her marrying my brother.
We started our sister weekend with lunch at a cute little place. We each ordered something different and split them both as we sat outside in the glorious weather. The manager even gave us a free cookie because Callie mentioned she was from out of town.
We then left there and headed to our pedicure appointments at the Aveda Institute (I LOVE this place!!!!). After some pampering we hit the stores for a little shopping. We needed to pick up my dad a b-day present and she had another gift to get. Shopping then led us to frozen yogurt and some more window shopping.
After a tour of my new office and such we headed to church, then dinner, and a movie. Dinner was great! Again we shared entrees and even dessert. Callie really is hilarious and so much fun to hang out with. She's so cray-cray (new slang abbreviated way to say crazy... it was definitely our word of the weekend!).
After dinner we went to see "The Help." We laughed and we cried. It was worth every penny and I highly recommend it. It was definitely one of the best movies I have seen in a while.
Today we kicked the day off with breakfast at a fabulous little breakfast place. Then we hit the river for some kayaking time. I keep talking about kayaking and Callie has never been, so we took the two person kayak and paddle down the river. The weather could not have been better.
After our river adventure, sadly Callie headed home. I thoroughly enjoyed my sister weekend. It was so relaxing and refreshing. And most of all I enjoyed having a "sister" to share it with. I love family and cherish the time I do get to just hang out and spend with them. I'm so glad to have a sister-in-law (and really two... the other just lives far away) to spend time with!
Until then......
