I usually try not to go to any of our iTeam events. I never want my leaders to feel like I don't trust them or are checking in on them. This weekend however, I joined the adventure iTeam for a trek through the deserts and mountains of west Texas.
Altogether it was myself plus 16 students who left on Friday afternoon and arrived back home today. We camped in the Enchanted Rock Park near Fredricksburg, TX. When we arrived in the park on Friday night around midnight, we gathered our stuff and made the two mile hike to our campsite. We pitched our tents and the weekend began!
For the three days we had no showers, no running water, and had to have taken all of our food with us for the time. It was great! We hiked, hung out, sat by the lake, climbed Enchanted Rock, went caving, and so much more. It was legit! And this morning may have been the best shower I've ever had. My tent buddy and I got up at 6:15 packed up our tent and hiked the two miles to the showers by 7:30. Knowing that a shower was at the end of the two miles made it seem so worth it so early.
Here's a picture of me and my pack from the trip. I borrowed this beast of a bag from one of my housemates and it was awesome! This is the end of the trip so it's much lighter after I ate most of my food, drank my two gallons of water, and took the chair off. So legit!!

Until then......
