This weekend has been bathroom renovation weekend. So far I've torn out cabinets, sanded doors and frames, painted trim and all, pulled floor trim up, changed all door knobs and cabinet knobs, painted the ceiling, changed lights, installed a new faucet, added new lights, put in a new floor, and today involves me building and installing new cabinets. Luckily the plumbing and electrical were done by a student who's dad owns a plumbing and electrical business. And I had another student help me lay the floor and do a bit of sanding.
Friday I started the whole project around 2. I went and bought all the supplies and then started demolition around 6pm. I then proceeded to demolition and sand and paint and so on until 4am. By the time I got in bed it was 5:15am and every bone and muscle in my body ached. My thought was, this isn't as easy as it use to be!!
Even after my late night I was back up and painting by 11am on Saturday. With the exception of meal breaks and a trip to Home Depot, I worked on the bathroom room until about 11:00 last night. I must say whatever wasn't sore after the first day is definitely sore now!! It's a good feeling though. I enjoy the soreness and being slap worn out from hard work.
Today I'll build the cabinets and put them in. The floor and this are the two parts I've been most apprehensive about. The floor was easy and came out great, so I'm hoping cabinets do the same! I'll post pics tomorrow when everything is done and looking amazing!!
Until then......
