Confession: For dinner last night I had a large fry and a large chocolate shake from McDonald's. For brunch yesterday I had a king size Snickers and a large Dr. Pepper.
Why is it that when we are upset, hurting, or stressed, junk food seems to make things better. I think it is the indulgence of what we like when things we don't like are happening. It's kind of the things are out of control issue and so we feel the need to control something. Even if it is control in a not so good way (fries and a shake is not a good form of control.... it's a bad form of eating!!).
Needless to say this week has not boasted well for my eating habits. Effectively immediately I need to return to spinach salads and baked chicken breasts. Why can't those be comfort foods anyway??? Oh the habits we establish!
