This past weekend I went to visit my grandmother in Mississippi. My dad grew up in southern Mississippi and the majority of his family is still there.
My grandmother is currently 89 and will turn 90 this June. She has seven kids, twenty-two grandchildren, around thirty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. And those don't even include step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. If you count all the children, spouses, grandchildren, their spouses, great-grandchildren, their spouses, and the great-great-grandchild, there are about eighty-nine people in the Taylor family. And that's just starting with my grandmother and working your way down. Now that's a lot of people.
While I was visiting this weekend, I just found out that there was a great-great-grandchild. This means there are now five generations alive in the Taylor family. I may only have two siblings, but we come from a very large Taylor family.
The picture above is a picture of my grandmother, my dad, and myself from this weekend. Just in case you wonder what I will look like when I'm 90, take a look at my grandmother. My dad looks just like his mom and I look just like my dad.
Until then ......
